New Businesses in Downtown Lakeville
Tailor on Main: Owner Cindy Nelsen has been doing tailoring work for years having learned the trade from her mother. She is now opening up her own shop on May 2nd. She specializes in bridal, prom and evening wear as well as the usual hemming and other alterations. She will be open Monday thru Saturday but has not yet established a set hours of operation but will provide some early morning and evening hours to accommodate the commuting community.
Miracole's: Roy Mcghee has opened his candy shop in the McGuire Mechanical building at 20830 Holt Avenue. The business is named after his daughter and the operation of the business will include the Mcghee children. The store will be open Monday - Sunday from 1:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Post Babies Boutique will be opening in May in the former Varsity Sports space.
Business News
Candy Retka, Discovery Financial Centers, announced that she will be the 2012 Vice President of the South Suburban Chapter of the International Association of Administration Professionals. During Administrative Professionals Week the Association will be sponsoring a program on April 26th with guest speaker, Robyne Robinson and her topic "The Power of Personal Transformation for a Happier and Long-Lasting Career." The event is being held at Old Chicago in Apple Valley at 6:00 p.m. with appetizer bar and beverages ($20.00). Registration at southsuburbaniaap.org. The event is open to the public.
Business After Hours
Metro Equity Management held a Lakeville Chamber Business After Hours and open house on April 22, 2010 to celebrate their new location at 7920 Lakeville Boulevard. The company, owned by Mark Hotzler, owns and manages ten properties in Lakeville, the majority of them located in downtown.


Ace Hardware
Ace Hardware opened its new 16,000 square foot store in downtown Lakeville in December of 2009. The location at the corner of Holyoke Avenue & 208th Street and adjacent to the city’s Market Park, provides plenty of parking for customers. The store held a grand opening - "board cutting" ceremony on April 1, 2010.
